The Senior League World Series is supported financially entirely by businesses and organizations in the Greater Bangor area. Since 2002, Bangor’s Mansfield Stadium has been the host of this event, which features some of the world’s best youth baseball players ages 13 through 16. From all accounts, players, coaches, parents, and fans have enjoyed their time in Bangor and in Maine, and Little League has been happy with the World Series staff’s professionalism in putting on a high-quality event that culminates in the championship game being broadcast live on an ESPN channel.
Each year, it costs about $175,000 to put on the series. Expenses include providing lodging and food for teams and umpires, shuttle bus service for teams, equipment rentals, a recognition banquet, and other supplies. Dozens of dedicated volunteers provide hundreds of hours of service and skills, keeping the budget down. Although times are tough economically, this great event puts Bangor and Maine in front of a worldwide television audience. Not only will supporting the World Series entice World Series fans to come back again or tell their friends what a great place Maine is, it will give residents and visitors much-needed entertainment and yet another opportunity to enjoy a beautiful Maine summer. Our ability to host future World Series depends on our ability to cover costs for the series. Sponsorship Levels
