August 12, 2011 Pointstreak to provide real-time scoring
Last year, Pointstreak provide scoring for the Little League Baseball World Series in South Williamsport, Pa. After a successful run, Little League decided to expand use of the system to the other seven series this year. “The Little League World Series is one of the biggest youth sporting events in the World and we are extremely proud to have been selected to provide real time scoring and statistics again in 2011,” Scott Secord, CEO and president of Pointstreak Sports Technologies, said. At the Senior League Baseball World Series, Assistant Tournament Director of Communications Ryan Robbins and his assistant, Chris DeBeck, have been working closely to learn the new system. Both tested the system during the Maine District 3 Senior League Baseball tournament and the Maine Junior and Senior League Baseball tournaments. Little League Director of Communications Steve Barr has been in close touch to check on any problems. To access real-time scoring of a game, simply go to the Scores page and click on “Scoring.” If you miss a game, you will still be able to view a pitch-by-pitch description of the game in text or “replay” the game in Pointstreak’s Game Live feature.
